Our estate extends in total for approximately 45 hectares. Twenty-seven hectares are cultivated as vineyards, and the rest divided between woods and olive grove.

The vines cultivated are mostly autochthonous, with Sangiovese, leader of Tuscan viticulture and present for about 70% of the vineyard surface, accompanied by historical cultivars such as Pugnitello, Colorino and Canaiolo. The extension as vineyard is therefore completed by international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot for the red berry varieties in addition to Chardonnay and Viognier for the white berry ones.

The training systems that we use are spurred cordon and Guyot that we recently re-introduced for new plants. The planting density varies from 4,630 plants/hectare for the new plants to 3,000 plants/hectare for vineyards older.

The morphology of the land on which the wines are growing has a medium textured soil with layers of loam, volcanic tuff, and clay, and the position halfway up a hill, together with optimal microclimatic conditions, is ideal for ripening grapes. Especially during the growing season we find significant differences in temperature between day and night ideal for the development and maintenance of coloring and aromatic substances.
